I really should use my journal for something other than spazzing out and bitching about things. But, well, eh. I know I haven't responded to comments from my last two posts and I apologize for it. I just felt weird saying "thanks. <3" to everyone. My friend did come over to NH/MA last weekend and I spent some time with her. She's doing okay, as okay as she can be doing anyway. Nabari No Ou's is officially out of fansubbers now. After nineteen fucking episodes, we lose the series. AND IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN LICENSED OVER HERE. Sucks either way, but at least if it was, we could possibly get the last seven years in, oh, what, a year and a half?

NnO is the only anime I'm even watching this season because everything else either ended or totally sucks. And now I might not even be able to watch that. If a series isn't even licensed, I don't know why the hell they have to be pulling all these cease-and-desists out of their asses.

And no, I don't find it odd that I support fansubs, hate C&Ds, and still get pissed when companies drop my favorite titles. Tokyopop is suffering financial difficulties because 75% of what they publish totally SUCKS. Some sort of discrimination is required as a publisher. I sincerely doubt that manga and anime companies are going out of business because of scanlations and fansubs.

If anything, they should take advantage of them. Watch which series pick up multiple fansubbers/scanlaters and are downloaded en masse. Pay attention to what series collect fandoms. If it sells in Japan and if kids worldwide are clamoring to download it the second it comes out in English online, chances are it will sell here. Why should WE suffer because THEY waste their resources publishing total shit?

Uhmmmmmm..... Yea. Togainu No Chi (the manga) got licensed. By Tokyopop. What the hell. Why couldn't a publisher that ACTUALLY EDITS THEIR WORK (and finishes their series) get it? And one that doesn't molest character names? TP jerks their fans around so hard and I don't want to be waiting 16 months in between releases, never knowing if it's even going to come out at all.

Though I must say, I'm excited. This will be pretty much the first violent seme x seme shounen-ai / yaoi manga to come out here, because most everything else they've translated has been fluff (except Ai No Kusabi, which is awful, and a novel besides). Which makes me wary at the same time, because it may completely bomb and we'll get one volume before TP drops it. Or it will be huge and I hate it when my fandoms and/or fetishes get huge. Then again, I won't say no to more violent seme x seme yaoi hitting the American market, even if it means I have to share. I don't know though...I would think it would have been big here by now if it was going to. I don't know all that many people who like their yaoi that way (other than my FList, because I know you're all pervs like me)

Still trying to figure out what's going on here. Supposedly this is season two...?

1) Evidently Allelujah's eye grew back. I guess whether or not he actually lost that eye was ambiguous, but I expected at least a SCAR. Half his face got blown off, and he doesn't even have a scar???? Though this means that Hallelujah IS very likely coming back. Not only has the director refused to say whether he's alive or dead, but Alle's pretty face is still perfect on his Halle side.

2) Four years and they still have the same hairstyles. Hrm. Except Allelujah, who has finally admitted his psychotic obsession with Johann and is now copying his haircut. Great. Now Nena's going to try and molest him. Unfortunately, their flightsuits took a turn for the worse. I thought they were kind of sexy first season. These are just....awful.

3) ART STYLE FUCK THE WHAT THAT IS WAY DIFFERENT THAN SEASON TWO. It looks kind of low-budget and gaudy. Actually, it looks a lot like this art style, which was proven to be a fake.

4) LYLE YOU CAN NOT BE A GUNDAM MEISTER THAT IS SO LAME. THEY CAN'T JUST REPLACE LOCKON HRI3NGLQEO;ON IOTJ I.

5) Finding it hard to believe that Sunrise would release this much information about it all at once. Granted, it's only a picture, but from it we know that Set, Alle, and T are all alive and still together, and that Lyle has taken Lockon's place as a Meister and the four are all working together.

I've been following the campaigns from pretty much day one and I just purposely avoided mentioning it here because I DO NOT WANT POLITICAL DRAMA BUT.......

CG R2 Episode 8 finally started to redeem the series, as it's finally moving in a direction that ISN'T A REPEAT OF SEASON ONE. I actually decided that if this episode bored me as much as 1-7 did, I was going to just drop it. Still don't have much hope for it, but I'll give it a few more episodes now at least to see where it's going. Though now it looks like they're going to team up with China and pwn Britannia and I really can't see how interesting that will be, even if it is finally new material.

Still confused about VV being a boy. Especially because he's naked in the credits and I wasn't aware CLAMP drew naked males.

I know how a couple of people on my FList feel about it already, but has anyone else just been completely disappointed in R2? I looked it up on AAN and was shocked to see that pretty much everyone gave it a flat-out ten, though I'm guessing most of those reviews are from stubborn CG loyalists. I just feel like I shouldn't have to wait until a series is a third over before we start seeing something that wasn't a rehash of the first season. That and Britannia became the hardcore generic bad guy, and I really don't like series with such an obvious baddie with no redeemable qualities whatsoever (unless it's a Dark Lord situation, but in a show with a political enemy, it's really kind of....lame). They were bad enough in season 1, but now the king is giving speeches about how there are no morals, no truth or justice, and everything is power and crushing those weaker than them? Talk about bad dictatorship tactics. Actually, the politics in this show really make no sense whatsoever. If a governor like Nunnally really DID make that statement she did in episode 7 without discussing it with her superiors, she would have been kicked out of office so fast she probably wouldn't have even finished her speech. That's like one of the state senators randomly deciding that their state is a separate nation and everyone being cool with it. WHAT. Yea she may be royalty but she still has to go through some sort of process with these things. She can't just do whatever she wants and still hold her office.

I guess if I'm watching a show with politics, I like them to be realistic. And the fact that this huge nation that owns half the world repeatedly leaves momentous decisions in the hands of TEENAGERS is kind of....absurd? In episode 8, I really think Guilford and the others should have been able to over-ride Suzaku and shoot the hell out of everyone. And I'm inclined to believe that if that happened IRL, most countries WOULD do that. Or just say "WTF nice parlor trick, asshole. Everyone has 2 minutes to remove their masks and reveal the true Zero or die."

And who the hell is Kaguya? I would smack that bitch one if I were Kallen or CC. I HATE that anime stereotype character.

Up until episode 8, I was giving this show a 4/5 out of 10 maybe (4 because of the expectations I had for it, 5 without any pre-requisites). Now it's a 5/6 out of 10. All said, I'm still watching it. XD Must be all the sexy guys. Or maybe I'm just really friggin bored.

Hiatus is boring.

Sign-up sheet went up for the JPs, and my friends and I are so lame we pretty much camped out in front of the board for two hours. Considering there are only 21 people signing up, and 9 of us were there, it was pretty damn pointless, BUT. I am the first literature major going (they let PoliSci and Phil majors go first).

Being the brilliant person she is, she misread the due date for one of her term papers. And being the hideous procrastinator she is, a three-day difference is a VERY BIG DEAL.

NO question about it. I am pretty much On Hiatus until December 12th. Yes, it's only a week, but I figured I'd let you all know. I have an absurd amount of things due in this week. AND I'M GOING TO DIE. I have a 100 average in Romanticism? I want to go to grad school for this? If I don't maintain a perfect grade I'm totally screwed? I totally had this amazing idea in mind and now I don't have enough time to research it properly? I HAVE A PRESENTATION TOMORROW when did this happen????? AND WHY IS MY TERM PAPER DUE SO SOON?

If I do manage to get everything in on time without killing myself, I'll be back on for a few days. Then I'll disappear again until December 21st (because finals are the 20th and 21st).
