Sooo AnimeBoston. Went all day Friday and about half of Saturday. I got in so early and didn't have to wait in line really, which was nice compared to last year.

Went through dealers room TWICE Friday and again on Saturday. Couple of Gundam 00 things here and there, but not much. Someone had the petit props from second season, but I have most of them so I didn't bother. There was a shop that had a lot of things available for pre-order on the Gundam comm, soo. Yea. This is the haul, but it's not much.

But in all, I guess both my fandoms are so obscure it's not funny. There were 2 Allelujahs, 1 Tieria, 1 Ribbons, 1 Regene, 2 Lockons, 1 young Alle, and 1 young Lockon. And moi as Sumeragi (technically as Lisa Kujo). That's all I saw in 2 days walking around anyway. And no Togainu characters at all. When it came to the dealers room and the artists' alley, there was almost nothing for G00 and nothing at all for TnC. I tore all the doujinshi sellers apart and all I found was one Lamento doujin, which I bought out of bitterness. But come on, one is a GUNDAM SERIES FOR GOD'S SAKE and the other is a yaoi game. Why the hell doesn't anyone have anything for them?

IS ANYONE ON MY FLIST GOING TO ANIME-EXPO IN JULY?

I want to go but need a room-mate or 2 or 3.

So I started this trend on the Gundam 00 Kinkmeme or H/Allelujah being a stud-soldier (Not unlike what the Nazis tried to create. Which makes me realize that Johann and Miheal are possibly in the same situation).

And now everyone's going crazy with it.

I figure I better give a half-assed official statement on this, for anyone who hasn't already figured it out yet.

Gundam 00 is my new major fandom. Yea I'm still involved in Trinity Blood but G00 is definitely dominant in my mind right now. Clearly any series that can make me cry for pretty much 48 hours straight is my current fandom (although G00 has ripped my heart apart more than any fandom ever has).

All aside, I am not abandoning TB. I will still be ficcing for it, just not as heavily. There's actually a couple (Alejandro x Livonze) in G00 that are almost exactly like Isaak and Di, so by writing THEM, I'm actually figuring more out about the IxD relationship, so I will definitely be writing more of that. I actually wrote one last night, but it is epic!lame and I'm too lazy to type it up. Obviously one fandom is going to take precedence over another, and right now that's Gundam. I'm still following and writing TB, but it will be interspersed with G00 fics now too. Because like I said, where I am with TDH right now requires a lot of thought and I can't rush it, so when I have a half an hour to write, I'll write G00 lest I screw up my only fic with any semblance of a plot.

But I figured I'd throw it out there because I know half my F-List reads my journal for the TB fics. And while those fics will still be coming, it won't be as often as before by any means.

And if you're curious about Gundam 00, WATCH IT. I've never really gotten into a Gundam before now. But seriously, even if you can't get into the plot (though I argue it's impossible not to), the men take good care of the fangirls. And the emotional rawness of it. AND HARO.

And Code Geass R2 starts in a couple of weeks, and it has been canonically confirmed that Lelouch and Suzaku are lovers best of friends. So I'll probably have a complete breakdown from trying to live in three fandoms at once.

My computer was a year old yesterday. Kind of a big deal that I had something a whole year without breaking it. XD This was a surprise gift for me from my parents before I went to Rome last year. I just came home from church and my father was like "hey, we're going up to the computer store to buy you a Mac."

I basically owe my fandom involvement to this computer. It was what kept me actively writing all through Rome, and I've been able to write/go online much more now that I have my own computer. I write best at night, so I really can't do much without my own laptop. So yea, happy birthday laptop!

Of course, I horribly abused it all day yesterday. Spent a couple of days at my sister's and they have crazy internet connection. Websites don't load well, BUT downloads are 600K/s. They max out at 90K/s at home... And Megaupload let me download over 40 episodes in 24 hours, so I got the Mirage of Blaze OAV, the rest of Darker than Black, and 20 more episodes of D.Gray-Man. Will post review of Dennou Coil this week...almost done with it. It's amazing.

I have also been writing IxD for a year now. I hand-wrote a fic last January. I didn't date it for some stupid reason, but I know it was in early January. You can find it IN THIS POST...last paragraph. Yea, it's a paragraph. Written with no canon knowledge whatsoever.

And I found this amazing video. Seriously, it made me laugh my ass off. I needed my inhaler after I watched this.

You don't need to have played Halo to find it funny, though it does help. Just picture Dietrich as the chief and Radu as Arby in the second half of the video. HYSTERICAL.

And Christopher Ayres is a special guest at AnimeBoston 2008. He was the horrible English voice actor for Isaak in the dub. The one who couldn't pronounce his own name right? Yea. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to go yell at him about it.

I think my Christmas can best be summed up in these two presents: A packet of wormwood seeds and a book from 1829 on how to tie a cravat (and the history of). I love my parents.

Anyway, on a TB note, I have finally managed to get my sister to watch it. She's twenty episodes in. Says she keeps almost giving up because she despises both Abel and Esther. She pointed out that in pretty much every episode except the first few, one or both of them is/are entirely superfluous. And, she said, Tres hasn't even shown up in a good ten episodes. XD He's her favorite, but she also likes Di and (oddly enough) Ion. I figured she'd like Radu, but hey. SHE LIKES DI.

AND HOLY CRAP either this website was updated or I just figured this out... But at that awesome Dietrich and Isaak fanart site, there is now a game where you can, uhm, take part in stripping Dietrich. There is an Isaak game too, but unfortunately, you just kill his shadow demons. No stripping the magus. =(

I will hopefully have a fic or two up by tonight. I've just had a busy week and I have a few commissions I've been working on. And being the intelligent one that I am, I don't work on one at a time. And versine, your fic is giving me more trouble than anything I've ever written I believe. XD

I promised nicocoer links to some TB download sites over a week ago. I've been searching and all I can find are dubs or incompletes (a lot of sites have the first 8 or so and that's all). Does anyone know of a site that has the COMPLETE series in subtitles?

Been looking for new manga series to follow. Most of the ones I have either finished recently or have only one or two more books to go (except Trinity Blood, which takes ages between each volume). Are there any other crazy epic!manga out there that I've been missing? I could say in style of TB or Kaori Yuki, but I know that isn't likely to happen.

I wrote a Kingdom Hearts fic.

But never fear. I have a Trinity Blood fic I am going to post in a few minutes. This in no way affects my TB-fandom-stupidity. In fact, I just spent 43 dollars on an uncorrected proof edition of TB: RAM 1. It's twelve pages longer than the published version, so I am very curious. Will most definitely post about it when it arrives.

Anyway, if you're here for the KHness...I haven’t written Kingdom Hearts fic in about a year, so I have no clue what the fandom is like now. But it seems that most Trinity Blood fans went through a Kingdom Hearts phase (or did everyone?) and I keep seeing KH art on TB art sites. Thought it would be fun to revisit a fandom for a fic or two.

PG/13 for reference to rape and a couple of swears. Subtle Axel x Roxas, with references to my fanon-canon Demyx x Larxene and Marluxia x Axel. This is slightly AU (takes place in this world), but it’s really irrelevant for the most part. 1117 words.

Reflections on a fandom

I'm leaving very soon to go to the HP7 party at Harvard Square. Just wanted to drop a line and say good luck to everyone in whatever they do tonight. Maybe I'm taking it too seriously but I'm scared out of my mind about this book. I know I haven't been an active member in the fandom for five years now, but that doesn't change how I was a part of the fandom and still keep up with quite a bit of it. I'm still in communication with quite a few of those I befriended in the days back when there were only three or four HP books. And fandom may be fandom but nobody can deny the sheer magnitude of this all. Harry Potter has been around for TEN YEARS now and most of us have been involved in it for at least five of those ten, if not more. And now this thing that has been such a big part of our lives is suddenly going to be over. One more book and that's the end of it. No more speculating on what will happen. No more arguments over who will die, who will fall in love with who. Suddenly all shippers are canon or crack!fanon. Suddenly all speculation fics are AU. I went back and looked at a few of my old fanfics last night and realized that not a single one is relevant today. They all discuss matters that have been disproved in books 5 and 6 (and likely 7), but wasn't that all the fun in writing HP fic?

I'm seeing a lot of "With You Whatever Happens" sort of things going around, and I must say it's a very strange sentiment. I'm forced into it. I have no choice. HP literally dominated my life for about two years when I went through my Draco phase (if you remember me then, surely you know what I mean). I wrote that fic on FF.Net, later removed, "I Think I Fell For the Guy in T.B." and over four-hundred people responded, agreeing in the full. We've all been horribly wrapped up in this, dangerously so, and now we all wait anxiously to see whether our fandom is worth it.

If it's bad, we're going to cry. But we will still love HP despite everything. If it's good, we'll cry, because it is the end of an era. It sounds ridiculous but it's true. Never again will the world get so excited over a book. Yes, the fandom will live on, but at the same time, it all ends tonight. It ends for each of us when we read the last sentence.

I know most of my HP friends have since moved on, and I don't know all that many via LJ, a I got this years after I ceased to write, but I just wanted to say to any of you out there reading this:

love you all forever. The HP fandom has meant and done so much for me.
